Who is Prairie Jane?  Well, that's me. Wife. Mommy of two beautiful daughters. Living on the prairie flatlands of eastern South Dakota. Jane of all trades. Learning as I go.

I'm a perfectionist who can never get it quite right. I start projects that never get done. I don't function well without copious amounts of caffeine. My house is messy more often than it's clean. The dishwasher's always full, and I often forget loads of laundry in the washer for several days. The laundry's seldom folded; and if it is, it stays stacked on the couch for a day or two (or three) longer. I leave things to the last minute. I get angry and frustrated with my kids. I've forgotten it's my child's turn to provide snack at school. I've left my purse in the grocery cart more times than I want to admit. I forget to brush my kids' teeth for goodness sake!

Maybe I'm too hard on myself? Maybe I'm just like every other mom?

So why, with such a crazy, disorganized life, do I want to write a blog? Mostly because I need a creative outlet! I can handle only so many cut and paste, coloring, painting or make-the-most-creative-thing-out-of-a-toilet-paper-roll crafts. Are you with me on that? I want to write. I want to share. I want to grow as a mom and a wife. I want to interact with other adults! This is an opportunity for me to share my experiences with other moms, to learn from my peers, and perhaps make some friends along the way.
